Connecting with Community - Early Childhood Educator Training

Making connections with our community can be an overwhelming concept.

Where do we start? How do we make it real and authentic? How can children and families be involved in the process?

During this online training session Kirralea will explore community, with reference to Quality Area 6: Collaborative Partnerships with Families and Communities, to guide us in exploring how services can connect to community through an authentic approach relevant to their service.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify what community connections look like for your service
  • Understand how we can connect to our community authentically
  • Explore how families and communities can support us in our connections and how we can embed these in our practices

Training Presenter: Kirralea Lyneham – Children First Training

Kirralea is a genuine advocate for the wellbeing of children, specialising in training child protection, children’s health & safety, guiding & supporting children’s behaviour and wellbeing. She lives and breathes early childhood education and it shines in her training.

Working as both a Trainer and Educator, she loves bringing her training to life with real and current experiences to support the learning of educators.

Kirralea has 25 years experience in the Early Childhood sector as an ECT, Manager and Director in Long Day Care and Preschool services – including working in a remote community on Magnetic Island in North Queensland. She has also enjoyed teaching at TAFE NSW and Open Colleges as both a Trainer and Assessor.
