This course introduces the foundations of speech and language development in young children. It will cover developmental milestones, strategies to build language and social skills in the classroom setting, and provide an introduction into supporting children with special needs. The course aims to equip educators with the skills to recognise communication difficulties and confidently facilitate the process of early intervention.

 

Training Presenter: Speech-Language Pathologist – Aneesa  Eldick – Growing Early Minds 

Aneesa is a speech-language pathologist in the Growing Early Minds team. She completed her Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology) at the University of Sydney in 2021. She is passionate about collaborating with clients’ families, caregivers and other health professionals, to ensure optimal services are provided and improve the client’s overall quality of life.

Aneesa has experience working with individuals with moderate to high support needs, in schools, community health centres and in clinic settings. She has gained experience in working with a variety of individuals, consisting of children with intellectual disabilities, developmental delays and verbal and non-verbal individuals with mild to severe autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Aneesa speaks English and conversational Arabic and has worked with non-English speaking families in the past.
